The river Avon of Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire

Welcome to the joint website of the two authorities that run the River Avon from Alveston to Tewkesbury known as "Shakespeare's Avon".

The Upper Avon Navigation Trust Limited  registered charity 244951  Also known as "UANT"  looks after the river from Alveston to Evesham

The Lower Avon Navigation Trust Limited  registered charity 203856   Also known as "LANT"   looks after the river from Evesham to Tewkesbury

Administration of both authorities is from an office in Wyre Piddle near Pershore

Shakespeare's Avon is 46 miles in total and is also part of the "Avon Ring", a circuit that includes the Avon and the Severn making a round trip that takes approximately 10 days.

There are two guides to the river with details of lock sites and additional information designed to be helpful to those more used to the canal system.
